Terms of Use
Last updated: 13 August 2026
About these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Trayna Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17204176) and trading as "Trayna" ("Trayna", "we", "us" or "our"). They govern your use of the Trayna mobile app and the content and features within it (together, the "Service").
Trayna is an A-Level revision app that gives you study notes, practice questions, videos, and an adaptive daily study planner. The app is free to download. During our launch period the coached plan is free to use; once paid plans go live, continued access will be provided through an auto-renewable subscription, described in "Subscriptions, free trial and payment" below.
These Terms are the licence agreement (EULA) for the Trayna app. If you have a question about these Terms, or about how we handle your data, you can contact us at info@trayna.co.uk. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your personal information, and forms part of your agreement with us.

Accepting these terms
By downloading, creating an account on, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time (see "Changes to these terms" below). By continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.
Please read these Terms carefully and keep a copy for your records.
Who can use Trayna
Trayna is designed for students preparing for A-Level exams, who are mostly aged 15 to 18.
You must be at least 13 years old to create a Trayna account. When you enrol, you confirm that you are 13 or older; the Service is not available to anyone under 13.
If you are under 18, you should have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service, and we recommend that you show these Terms to them. If a parent or guardian pays for your subscription, they should read these Terms too. Subscriptions are purchased through Apple, and families can use Apple's built-in controls (such as Ask to Buy) to manage purchases.
By using the Service, you confirm that you are old enough to do so and, if you are under 18, that you have your parent or guardian's permission, as set out above.
Subscriptions, free trial and payment
Trayna is free to download. During our launch period the coached plan is free to use, and you will never be charged without clearly agreeing to a purchase first. Once paid plans go live, new accounts will come with a free trial of the coached plan (currently 2 weeks), and continued access after the trial will require an auto-renewable subscription. The title, length, and price of each subscription plan (including the price per subject where a plan covers more than one subject) are shown clearly in the app and on the App Store before you buy.
Founding members: if you created your account and enrolled during our free launch period, you keep free access to the coached plan for as long as you study with us on that account. You do not need a subscription, and you will never be asked to pay for the access you signed up under. Paid plans apply to accounts created after the launch period. Founding access is personal to your account and does not transfer; standard limits that apply to every account (such as the signed-in device limit) still apply.
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. We never see or store your card details; Apple handles the payment.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each subscription period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal, at the price shown when you subscribed, within 24 hours before the current period ends.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings (on iPhone: Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions). Deleting the app, or deleting your Trayna account, does not cancel an active subscription: you must cancel it in your Apple Account settings to stop future charges.
If a plan includes a free trial and you buy a subscription before the trial ends, any unused part of the trial is forfeited, where applicable under Apple's rules.
Because payment is handled by Apple, refunds are also handled by Apple under Apple's own terms. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
If we change the price of a subscription, we will tell you in advance and the change will only apply from your next renewal, in line with Apple's rules. If you do not agree with a price change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
Your account
To use the Service you create an account using your email and a password (through Google Firebase Authentication), or by using Sign in with Apple where available.
Please keep your login details private and do not share your account with anyone else. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. If you think someone else has accessed your account without permission, please contact us at info@trayna.co.uk.
Please give accurate information when you set up your account, including your confirmation that you are 13 or older, which we use to make the Service age-appropriate. Falsely confirming your age may prevent us from protecting you correctly.
Your licence to use Trayna
As long as you keep to these Terms, we give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service and its content for your own personal, non-commercial study.
This licence is just for you. It does not let you sell, rent, share, or commercially exploit the Service or its content, and it ends if your account is closed or these Terms are terminated.
Our content and intellectual property
All the notes, practice questions, videos, text, graphics, designs, logos, software, and other materials in the Service (the "Content") belong to Trayna or to the people we license them from, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property rights.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any of those rights to you. The only rights you have are the ones set out in the licence above. The "Trayna" name and logo are ours, and you may not use them without our written permission.
Exam board names, specifications, and similar references are used only to describe the courses our Content supports. Trayna is an independent study aid and is not endorsed by or affiliated with any exam board.
Acceptable use
We want Trayna to be a safe and useful place to study. When you use the Service, you agree NOT to:
copy, scrape, download in bulk, republish, redistribute, sell, or share the Content, except for the normal personal study allowed by your licence;
use the Service for any commercial purpose, or to build or train any competing product or dataset;
try to bypass, disable, reverse-engineer, or interfere with any security, age-assurance, or technical feature of the Service;
upload or transmit anything harmful (such as viruses or malicious code), or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, our systems, or other users' accounts;
use the Service in any way that is unlawful, abusive, or that disrupts or harms the Service or other users.
If you misuse the Service, we may suspend or close your account (see "Suspension and termination" below).
Trayna is a study aid, not a guarantee
Trayna is an educational study aid designed to help you revise and practise. It is meant to support your learning, not to replace your school, your teachers, or your own work.
We do not guarantee any particular exam grade, result, or outcome. Your results depend on many things outside our control, including your own effort and how the exams are marked.
We work hard to keep our Content accurate and up to date, but we cannot promise it is completely free of errors or that it covers every part of a specification. Always check important points against your official exam board materials and your teachers.
Availability of the Service
We aim to keep the Service running smoothly, but we cannot promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. We may sometimes need to pause, update, or change the Service, for example for maintenance or improvements.
We may add, change, or remove features or Content from time to time. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", to the extent the law allows.
Our liability to you
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. In particular, we do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England & Wales.
Subject to that, and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage that is not a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms, or that arises from your reliance on the Content for your exam preparation.
Because the Service is intended for your personal, non-commercial study, we are not liable for any business losses (such as loss of profits, business, or opportunity). Except where the law does not allow us to limit it, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limits do not affect any legal rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. You can permanently delete your account and all of your data at any time, directly in the app, via Settings -> Delete account. This erases your data and your login. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription: cancel it in your Apple Account settings to stop future charges.
We may suspend or close your account, or restrict your access to the Service, if you break these Terms, misuse the Service, or where we reasonably need to in order to protect the Service or other users. Where it is appropriate and lawful to do so, we will give you notice.
If your account is closed for any reason, the licence we granted you ends and you must stop using the Content.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Service, to our legal obligations, or to keep them clear and up to date.
If we make an important change, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, such as a notice in the app. The "last updated" date at the top shows when the Terms were last changed.
If you do not agree with a change, you should stop using the Service and you can delete your account in the app at any time.
Governing law
These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service, are governed by the law of England & Wales, and are subject to the courts of England & Wales.
If you are a consumer, you may also be entitled to the protection of any mandatory rules of the country where you live.
